The Social Security Administration has a “Wounded Warriors” website that explains the Social Security claims process, how to apply for benefits, what types of benefits are available (including family members), and what can be done to speed up the decision.
There is also a link to the ”Disability Benefits for the Wounded Warrior” publication.
The Social Security Disability claims for military service members who became disabled while on active military service on or after October 1, 2001 are to handled on a fast track basis.
