Listing of Impairments – Social Security Benefits and Hearing Problems | Tampa Social Security Disability Lawyer
Your claim for Social Security Disability Benefits based on a hearing will be evaluated under Listing of Impairments Section 2 B. Otolaryngology. Both your hearing ability and ability to distinguish speech will be evaluated.
You must have a hearing test and a otolaryngologic examination done by a otolaryngologist or audiologist qualified to perform the testing. The report must have the results of an otolaryngologic examination, pure tone air and bone audiometry, speech reception threshold, and speech discrimination testing.
The results must meet the requirements of Listing 2.08 and 2.09 to qualify for a Listing.
